The skills above will be supported with training, but the candidate must be keen to learn and have a commitment to being part of a team. Avon Riding Centre’s main activity is providing Riding for the Disabled sessions, both mounted and unmounted. Ideally the apprentices we recruit have an interest in this and are happy to interact with our clients. They are strongly encouraged to train as an RDA Green Coach so they can teach our RDA sessions. We are looking for someone with good people/communication skills, who can work independently and as part of a team. The desired candidate would have good initiative, and be hard working. Being able to confidently exercise the horses is an essential part of the role. We also have a non-disabled riding school which helps support the RDA sessions financially, and we pay a percentage towards the cost of BHS Stage assessments for all our staff. There are weekly lesson opportunities for our apprentices also. |
