A total of forty one riders of all ages from our Mid West Region took part in this ever popular event and the sun shone for most of the day – not bad for early November!
I’d really like to take this opportunity to thank Sue Rudge and Maureen Clark for their excellent organisation, all the volunteers who assisted riders, ran the café and cooked the hot food in the kitchen. Thanks also to Tash for taking so many good photos.
The standard of turnout of all the horses and ponies and the riders was excellent and a big thanks to our staff at Avon for all the preparation of the ‘home team’.
To all the groups that travelled to Avon – your presence really enhances the enjoyment for us all and it wouldn’t be the same without you!
There is always a lot of work involved but our reward is seeing all the participants gaining confidence and experience, whether taking part for the very first time or regulars who want to take every opportunity to compete.
Our lovely judges: Denise McGuinness, Sue Mack and Lynne du Toit all deserve a special thank you for all their positive and encouraging comments that help coaches work with their riders to improve for next time.
Now we look forward to our RDA Show Jumping Day on February 22nd during half term week – make a note in your diaries and don’t miss it.
