April 19th was the Avon Centre’s first ever RDA Show Jumping event and once again we were lucky to have perfect spring day, ensuring that everyone had the very best chance to enjoy the day!
None of us were quite sure how many entries we would receive because there are still only a few SJ Groups within our Mid West Region. However with thirty entries over the four main Classes we were very pleasantly surprised.
There has been some very positive feedback from everyone, both on the day and afterwards, with many riders keenly anticipating the next opportunity to demonstrate their skills, therefore we are sure that the Centre will look to organise more SJ events in the future as well as our dressage days of course.
The results were as follows:
Class 1 Level I on leading rein
Ist Iona McLean on Jacko from the Saxon Group
2nd Joshua Gittens on Jet from the Lyncombe Lodge Group
3rd Lucy Wells on Jacko from the Saxon Group
4th Jack Tellyn on Bunty from the Forest Group

We had a plan to add an extra Class 6 if there was sufficient interest in doing a slightly different course with a couple more fences at the Level 3 height but decided in the end that it had been a really good day and rebuilding the course at that stage would have taken too much time for just the two riders that had entered.
